30 Inspiring Bible Verses for Women About Self-Worth and Inner Beauty

Today I’m sharing with you my favorite bible verses about beauty and self-worth. If you struggle with the image you see in the mirror, you’re not alone. Society’s standard of beauty can be ruthless. But we need to replace that ruthless mindset with a kinder, gentler look at ourselves. Instead of concentrating on what the mainstream media would have us believe about beauty, inner and outward, let’s take a look at what the bible says about our beauty, from God’s perspective!

Trust me when I tell you we won’t get a better perspective than that of God, who speaks to us through the inspired words of the bible. If your self-esteem needs a little boost, look no further!

I’ve chosen some of my favorite verses and placed them onto some beautiful images. You can download them for free and add them to your phone’s home screen or use them as your Facebook cover photo.

When we leave this world, we get the joy of eternal life with Him, and what could be better than spending eternity with the God of peace?

The Take-Away? The book Song of Songs in the bible shows us a series of poems written between a young woman and her lover. These letters are sometimes steamy! They show us the kind of love God has given us to enjoy in our marriage relationships. We can always count on the inspired word of God to remind us that we are beautiful in every way.

What to Take Away? Take heart. In God’s eyes, you are more valuable than even one of the most precious gems on earth. You are chosen, cared for, and deserve to hold the highest standards in your relationships.

The Take-Away? When we feel the need for fulfillment, God is the answer. Our family and friends can sometimes help, but the only one who can truly comfort us fully in our time of need is our Father. In our tough moments, prayer is the answer.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”

The Take-Away? Singing songs of praise is its own kind of prayer and community with God. When you’re feeling low, put on your favorite praise song and let your voice go crazy! Even if you can’t sing a note (like me), God loves to hear the praises of our hearts through song.

My husband says that God has a filter between earth and heaven. When we sing, even badly, the song passes through God’s filter and becomes a beautiful sound. Remember, Psalm 100 says to “make a joyful noise.”

The Take-Away? This one is fairly self-explanatory, isn’t it? God’s love is more powerful than that of a giant tidal wave. Can you even imagine? You are God’s masterpiece and He loves you.

23 – Esther 4:14

“Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.”

The Take-Away? Women hold so much information. We know about our friends, our families, and our church. We have the ability to build up or destroy with our words. God expects us to use our words for positive. To share them for His glory, and to build others up. As the old Sunday School song goes, “be careful, little lips, what you say.”

Wrapping it all Up

Even when you don’t love yourself, God loves you! Luke 12:7 says “Do not be afraid. For you are more valuable than a whole flock of sparrows.” Lean on Christ Jesus when you need a boost in your self-worth. He made you exactly how He wants you and in the image of God. For this reason, we can spend less time worrying about our outward appearance and focus on our inner selves.
