What is One of the Most Important Things to do in Holland, Michigan, with your dog?
Visit a Dog Park, of Course!
Holland has three great dog parks that are all clean and friendly and just far enough apart so that one is sure to be convenient no matter which part of town you are in.
Park Township Dog Park
1216 Ottawa Beach Rd
Holland, MI, US, 49424
This dog park is fully fenced, so your buddy can play off-leash. A small dog area and drinking water are available in the summer months. Take note that children under the age of 10 are not permitted at this park. A children’s play area is within sight of the fenced-in dog area.

Quincy Dog Park
4260 144th St
Holland, MI, US, 49424
Quincy Dog Park is plenty large at 5 acres if you have a dog that loves to explore. I love the double gates at the entrance and that there are separate areas for bigger dogs and smaller dogs under 25 pounds. Security lighting is up and running, which is so convenient in Michigan autumn and winter. I also love that the park is under 24-hour video surveillance. Although drinking fountains are available for your pet, they are off when temperatures fall below freezing. This park also has asphalt walking paths for us humans, along with tables and benches.
Dog Park at Van Raalte
975 E 24th St
Holland, MI 49423
The Van Raalte Dog Park is the only fenced-in dog park located within the Holland city limits. The dog park is an extension of Van Raalte Farm Park, so while you’re there, you will find heated restrooms and other amenities for you and your pet’s convenience. There are two sections of the park to enjoy: one for full-size dogs and one for our smaller dogs under 25 lbs. Each area has a separate entrance. You can enjoy the walking paths with your dog on a leash or set her free to roam in the fenced-in space provided.
Dog-friendly Walking Trails
If you prefer to walk with your dog and enjoy nature with your buddy on a leash, check out some of our local walking trails. Of course, be sure and bring waste bags to clean up after your pet and keep him on a leash at all times while on the trails.
Riley Trails
16300 Riley St

Dogs are welcome when leashed. Any buildings, picnic shelters, or restrooms are off-limits to dogs. You will find plenty of dog-free outdoor enthusiasts wandering these trails, also. Hikers, mountain bikers, and cross-country skiers enjoy 300 acres, including footpaths, forested woods, and even a small lake. You will undoubtedly enjoy nature together with your 4-footed friend here.

West Olive, MI, US, 49460
There are two sections at Kirk Park; one is dog-friendly and available for you to romp and swim with your pup. The other area is dog-free. Windmill Island Gardens
1 Lincoln Ave
Holland, MI, US, 49423
Windmill Island Gardens is a great dog-friendly place to walk your dog, provided they are on a leash. Dogs are not allowed in the windmill or the gift shops due to food processing. As with all of the locations on our list, please be sure to clean up after your pet. The park has conveniently located bags throughout the park for your use.
Nelis’ Dutch Village
12350 James St
Holland, MI, US
Nelis’ Dutch Village welcomes dogs to the park! Dogs must be on a leash. Please be mindful of your dog’s ability to handle live animals and keep them away from the petting farm area. Dogs are restricted from being in the food service areas.
Be sure to stop by the Hungry Dutchman Café near Dutch Village. They happily accept dogs and have outdoor seating overlooking a lovely pond filled with ducks and geese. My grandson loves to feed the birds when we visit! It is our policy always to stop and feed the birds!

Along 31 North on the corner of James Street, you will find CD Exchange. The store is dog-friendly, and there is an on-site dog right there for you to visit and pet! The in-store dog is not leashed and is very chill, but I would caution you to have your dog on a leash, just in case!

Blu Veranda
12 E 8th Street
Holland, MI 49424
Blu Veranda is a staple of downtown Holland apparel shopping for women. I especially love that they carry swimsuits and other ladies items in sizes up to 3x. Inside you will find friendly associates and a welcome for your leashed dog with good shopping manners. Stop at the door for a quick drink of water and a treat on the way in… and out! Can you say Dog friendly!?
