I had to become a hip grandma to realize that life is better over the age 50!

I have always wanted to be a grandma. The value of a grandparent in a child’s life is an amazing and delightful thing. I grew up without having close relationships with grandparents, and watched quietly while others around me did. I vowed that my kids would have a different experience.

My kids do love the two grandparents that are part of their life, but it still didn’t look exactly how I thought it should look for them. And so, I began considering what it should look like when I have my own grandkids. I now have two. And guess what? Being a hip grandma doesn’t look the way I thought it would.

I’m finally beginning to understand that even though I am probably one of the hippest of hip grandmas, I can only control what’s within my control (and sometimes even that is tricky), so it’s time to focus on all the excitement of reaching the grandparent phase of life on what comes when you have an empty nest (or almost), a full heart, and a soul full of adventure!

So What’s this Hip Grandma to do?

Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying!

I have a whole lot of life to live here on this planet, and those grandkids are watching, so I’m getting busy and getting to it!

Come join me as I live life as a grandma (a hip one for certain), a mom of 5, a wife, a businesswoman, a traveler, and an over-50 aged woman! I am learning about my body in a whole new way, how to be in relationships with myself and others even when those relationships aren’t perfect, and how to embrace every new day and every new challenge (with as much grace and dignity as I can muster), and relying on God and my sense of humor for the rest!
